Artist, curator, and entrepreneur Jean-Claude Rasch approached us for help with this special project. Jean-Claude knew that the arts scene in Central Florida, while vibrant and growing, is under-appreciated. “Everybody knows us for Disney, but no one recognizes the arts and culture scene that’s brewing.” He wanted to begin highlighting the world-class exhibits and events that were quietly happening around the area.
The result of Jean-Claude’s idea is ArtScene Press, an independent publication dedicated to highlighting the arts in Central Florida.
We worked with Jean to understand his target demographic, the kinds of art he’d want to feature, and his larger goals for the publication. Combining our understanding of his project with market research and our personal connection to the arts, we developed a edgy custom lettering logo for ArtScene Press that’s anchored by polished typography. The color palette was drawn from Jean-Claude’s personal body of work and underscores the dynamic nature of the arts community.
We then developed a flexible site where Jean-Claude and his team could publish the content developed by local writers and photographers. A clean, clear interface allows for easy reading and re-posting.
This indie publication is growing rapidly post-launch and it’s exciting to watch its progress.
