Join Commissioner Doris Acosta and local artist Rebecca White in building Garden of Essence, a temporary public art installation for contemplation and meditation. This project is made possible through sponsorship by the North Bay Village Commission.
Where: Civic Park, North Bay Village (behind the Dog Park on East Drive)
When: September 9–September 30
This project is a space for us to come together and connect during challenging times.
Inspired by human migration pathways and the waterways of the Everglades, this experiential artwork is designed to open a space for people to process their lived experiences.
The project uses natural materials—like branches, sticks, and palm fronds—to form beautiful, meditative paths.
The installation will be on view for public enjoyment during the month of September. You are invited to walk the paths, meditate, or simply be present with the earth at any time.
You can also contribute to the artwork by adding your own natural materials or joining us at one of our special collaborative building events. Materials will be available on-site, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Join us to help build the meditation pathways!

Work with Intention: As we create this meditative, healing space, let's infuse our work with love, kindness, and compassion.
Harmonize: As you add your pieces, notice how the materials flow together, and weave yours in a connected and harmonious way.
This space is for you: come to meditate, contemplate, pray, hold vigil, or simply be present with the earth.
